Max Bruch - Kol Nidrei, Op. 47 for viola and piano

Max Bruch - Kol Nidrei, Op. 47 for viola and piano
Clifton Harrison | viola
Domenico Ricci | piano pre-record

This is the first video in my One Camera, One Take series. We are all self-isolating yet music still finds a way to reach us all. Like many of my music colleagues, my heart is missing performing and connecting with people through music. Here I present Max Bruch's Kol Nidrei, originally written for cello and orchestra. I think it suits the viola rather well [controversial to some, I know lol].

Domenico Ricci joins me on piano through the magic of technology. We have practised together on many occasions though we have never met. His website (https://www.mypianoaccompaniment.com/) is full of recorded piano parts to major works for many instruments. Do check it out. I do hope you enjoy this performance. It is recorded on one camera and in one take. This way the performance feels more like a live concert, warts and all. :)
Recorded on 30 March 2020
